Metal gaskets

The use of metallic gaskets starts where soft gaskets no longer work reliably enough at the operating pressure or temperature to be sealed, or where there is a risk of gasket failure. Metallic seals are made of various materials such as steel, nickel, stainless steels, titanium, Inconel. They are used when higher chemical stress and extreme operating conditions are present. They are present in a variety of geometric shapes and materials in the industry. Metallic gaskets require high bolt forces and stable flanges. In practice, slightly curved contact surfaces are often used to reduce the forces or to achieve a high surface pressure.

revoseal weld ring gaskets

Weld ring gaskets without an auxiliary seal are primarily used where very high pressure and very high temperatures are present. We recommend the use of weld ring gaskets with an auxiliary gasket, e.g. spiral wound gasket, where absolute safety of the gasket against hazardous media is required. The weld ring seal also has the advantage that the welded joint can be undone without major problems.

Lens gaskets, also known as high-pressure lenses or sealing lenses, are all-metal, machined sealing elements. Sealing lenses are mainly used in the high-pressure sector, preferably in pipe flanges. Their two outer surfaces are curved on both sides. The prerequisite for their use is lens flanges that have a negative of the shape of the lens seal as a mating surface. This design prevents overpressing during assembly due to the disproportionately low increase in pressure. Most of the lens seals used today are manufactured according to the well-known standard DIN 2696, which describes lens seals from DN 10 PN 63 to DN300 PN 400. In addition to this standard, there are many other company specifications or national standards that describe in detail certain shapes and details of lenses. All these special designs are covered by our delivery program.
